Minimum Requirements

  • Be at least twenty-one years of age.

  • A Citizen of the United States.

  • Good Moral Character.

  • Free of conviction of any felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude.

  • Meet education and experience requirements.

  • Clean Driving Record

  • Current Driving License

This in-person course is a more hands-on course that provides training for those interested in working as a private detective. This course is recommended for those interested in working for themselves in the industry. The approved course exceeds the academic training prerequisites mandated by the states of CO, MS, KY, NC, and TN.

After completing this course, the student should be able to understand and comprehend the following:

After passing the in-class final examination (75%) the student will receive a certificate of completion for 16 continuing education credits in the following states: TN, KY, MS, CO, and 12 continuing education credits in North Carolina (Course # PPSB-24-010)

Upon completion, the student should then be prepared to contact the State Licensing Board and make an application to become a licensed investigator after following the state's requirements. 

** Licensed Private Investigators can take this as a refresher course and obtain 16 CE towards their state-licensed renewal.

***This educational program is an introductory course designed to help students not yet licensed gain the knowledge necessary for the vocational application of this subject. Completion of this program does not fulfill the legal requirements of particular state licenses or certifications, which may require additional training or apprenticeships**
