1970s: THE FOUNDER
The company's family legacy began in the late 1970s as Private Bureau of Investigations under the leadership of Vincent Garrett. A pioneer in the field of investigative services, Vincent built a reputation for meticulous surveillance and unwavering integrity. His vision established the firm as a trusted partner for insurance groups and legal entities throughout New York, setting a standard of excellence that defined the first three decades of operation.
2000: THE TRANSITION
In 2000, the firm evolved as Vincent Garrett passed the mantle of leadership to his son, Vincent Demps who rebranded as Masterchek Inc. This transition marked a new era of modernization, blending traditional investigative tradecraft with advanced technical capabilities. Under Demps' direction, Masterchek Inc expanded its scope to include comprehensive liability and cybersecurity oversight, ensuring the family legacy of exceeding expectations continued into the 21st century.

J. Vincent Demps
After serving during Operation Desert Storm, Vincent returned to Fisk University, where he studied in Pre-Law and Business Management. He then spent many years at Bass, Berry & Sims PLC, representing publicly traded and Fortune 500 companies. Over the last 20 years, at Masterchek Inc, Vincent blends rigorous legal tradecraft with advanced technical capabilities. He holds degrees in Cybersecurity, Homeland Security and a Masters Degree in Business and Contract Law. Also, a Harvard Business School certified negotiator and one of only five certified private investigator trainers in Tennessee who leads a private investigation school, he is commitment to trust and technical precision.
